US8 - 100 Days In America - New York

Nightly, the habit of manifesting dreams before sleep unwittingly sends me to the city that never sleeps, marking my unexpected return to the American saga.

In the finale of last year’s Season 1, I dramatically declared: “America, we’re done. My homesickness is homesick!”. ๐Ÿš€ But after a while, the vibrant life of Da Nang lost its luster. I started to feel like a bored dog cooped up in the house all day.

NYC

Little did I know, my subconscious was luring me night after night into a world of US travel vlogs on YouTube. These vlogs became my bedtime stories, unintentionally manifesting what was to come. ๐Ÿ”ฎ Then, as if by fate, an opportunity knocked. ๐Ÿง™โ€โ™€๏ธ

So here we are, Welcome to Season 2, with the missing piece of the puzzle: ๐ŸŽ The Big Apple! ๐Ÿ—ฝ

Statue of Liberty

Statue of Liberty

When moving to New York, the first thing on my mind was finding my childhood statue - the one I tried to take apart to see if there was a ๐Ÿ—ฝ bikini ๐Ÿ‘™ inside. Thanks, Twisted Metal 2!

True to its name, the freedom here is in overdrive - even the scammers are living their best lives. One tried to sell me a $40 unknown ticket that I could get for $25 from the official place and even had the audacity to block me from going inside to buy the valid ticket. Ah, the warm welcome of New York scammers, just what I needed!

It’s funny how getting rid of the “insects” ๐Ÿ› eating the ๐ŸŽ Big Apple seems simple, but it turns out to be mysteriously difficult for the area managers ๐Ÿคก.

I went so far as to record a video of these scam artists ๐Ÿ“ธ, but uploading it might not be the smartest move. I should probably keep my head down for safety.

Dedicated on October 28, 1886, this iconic statue was a joint effort between ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท France (the same folks who recently gave us that UniQuE ๐Ÿง Olympic Opening Ceremony) and the ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ United States. Originally, Lady Liberty sported a shiny copper look, but over time, she decided to go for the chic green patina like the bronze urn in our house. Personally, I think copper is more beautiful.

Times Square

Times Square

The neon jungle of New York! This is a must-visit place for sure! The fun and colorful atmosphere here is totally different - distinctly New York and unlike any other place! It’s like living in a movie ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

Times Square

What’s this old man up to? Oh, just a street preacher. Decked out in a Bible-themed vest, he’s waving a sign like it’s a clearance sale at the end of the world, shouting about doomsday and repentance ๐Ÿ˜‘

Times Square

But if fire and brimstone aren’t your thing, no worries! There’s always someone more entertaining just a few steps away ๐Ÿ‘™

Central Park

With time limited, and parks not exactly topping my list of priorities, I only spent about 30 minutes in Central Park. Then I met this cute dog, a stranger who felt like a long-lost love.

Streets

New York Streets

New Yorkโ€™s streets are a vintage dream, perfect for wandering aimlessly. Delmonico’s, Charging Bull, Wall Street, 5th Avenue… all the places I want to roam alone and enjoy the moment.

In a twist of fate, I accidentally fell into the underground Apple Store, giving me the chance to test out the Apple Vision Pro.

The Apple Vision Pro is undeniably cool, and the vision is astonishingly real, but the $3500 price tag? ๐Ÿค‘ That’s not even a New York price; thatโ€™s a “sell your kidney” price! Oh well, Apple isn’t sponsoring this blog, so let’s move on!

Dumbo - Manhattan Bridge View

Ah, Dumbo - finally, the place I unknowingly had as my phone wallpaper for ages. Standing there, soaking in the view, it felt like the perfect ending to my whirlwind New York adventure. The city threw everything it had at me, and I survived. What a ride! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿซฐ
