📘 One-Sided Love Saga
Whoa, time flies! 20 years have zipped by.
20 years of what, you ask? Oh no, not 20 years of us being in love 😄. Back then, my wife was only 4 years old!
I mean, it’s been 20 years since I first thought I knew what love (unrequited, of course) was, back in elementary school.
Yeah, you read that right. Elementary school!
High school rolled around, and my one-sided love affairs got a little more dramatic. Each crush got their own entry on my Yahoo 360 blog – a chronicle of my unrequited affections. Probably a few of you out there still remember my posts about Mango and Papaya. 😉
These blog entries were always written spontaneously at internet cafes, taking just an hour or two. Even without ChatGPT, my writing back then was quite poetic and attracted quite a few views from friends, while my essay grades barely scraped a 5/10. 🫣
Yet here I am now, with a chance to write again. Yahoo 360 is long gone, but luckily we have hoangyell.com, even better to tell the story of my final character!
🚕 Destiny’s Carpool
Despite falling in love early, it took 15 years later to find the angel of my life. Together, we make the perfect angel-and-demon duo.
But how did this angel meet her demon? (Actually, it should be vice versa 😈)
One fateful day, while carpooling (think UberX Share) from Huế to Đà Nẵng, my eagle eyes spotted a ridiculously cute girl, making my heart do the tango 💓.
Sadly, I was riding shotgun while she was in the back. Poof! She disappeared, and just like that, the opportunity was gone - leaving me drowning in regret.
💘 Cupid’s Master Plan
A month later, destiny worked its magic. Same day, same time, same ride—but this time, we were sitting side by side. The odds of such a coincidence were almost impossible, and I knew I couldn’t let this chance slip away. 🕊️
It was a great moment in my life. My heart beat so hard, I felt like I was in heaven in that cramped car. Sometimes, heaven had a thunderstorm ⛈️ with the gentle touch between me and her. ❤️🔥
I wanted to say hello and break the ice 🥶, but how? The car was full of people, and I was too shy to speak up. Thankfully, we were the last two left in the car, giving me the perfect opportunity.
The rest, as they say 😎, is history… 📖
But here’s the REAL kicker:
As we started talking, I realized she was the one who’d sent me an anonymous love letter back in high school – a letter I’d kept all these years, never knowing who wrote it.
Unbelievable! Fate brought us back together in the most epic way possible. That’s why I’m writing this blog post.
Damn it, unbelievable indeed, because GPT totally made this up — absolute nonsense, but what a plot twist!
And that’s how it went, folks - From Shared Rides to Shared Vows. From a kid pouring his unrequited crushes into a Yahoo 360 blog to a happily married man. Who would’ve thought, right?
